Easily connect your WS4 label printer to FedEx Ship Manager using USB on a Windows machine with this guide.
- Unpack your WS4, load 4×6 label stock, connect it to power, and plug it into the computer you want to print from via USB cable.
- Go to the printer drivers page and download the standard SATO drivers (which include the WS4).
- Once the drivers are installed, go to “Printers & Scanners” in Windows, select the SATO WS4, and click “Manage.” Then, select “Printer Properties,” go to the “Ports” tab, and ensure that the box labeled “Enable Bidirectional Support” is unchecked. Hit “Apply” and then exit.
- In the FedEx Ship Manager software, go to the “Utilities” dropdown menu and select “Printer Setup.” Open the dropdown menu under “Label Printer” and choose the SATO WS4.
- Once selected, click “Test Printer” to confirm the change has been successful. The test print generated by FedEx may be larger than the actual label size, which is OK. The printing of actual shipping labels should be to scale.
