Installing a wireless LAN module in the WS4-DT printer

Learn how to install a wireless LAN module in your WS4-DT printer with this step-by-step guide.

Installing the wireless LAN module for the WS4-DT printer

Step 1: Remove the base and the middle frame

Before installing the wireless LAN module, you need to dismantle specific parts of the printer.

Open the top cover.
Loosen and remove two screws on each side of the tear bar.
Remove the tear bar from the printer.
Turn the printer over.
Loosen and remove four screws from the base.
Lift the base and unplug all the cables.
Remove the base and the middle frame.

Step 2: Secure the Wireless LAN card and connect it to the main board

Once the necessary components have been removed, follow these steps to install and connect the module:

Pull out the reflective sensor cable from the hole.
Plug the reflective sensor cable into the reflective sensor port of the wireless LAN card.
On the right side of the printer, locate two screw holes under the top cover switch. Align the two holes on the wireless LAN card with them and secure the card with two screws.
Remove the backing tape from the wireless LAN antenna card.
On the front side of the printer, stick the wireless LAN antenna card between two ribs at the center. The antenna must face the wireless LAN card.
Attach the foam pad to the surface behind the wireless LAN antenna card.
Use the clip to fasten the wireless LAN antenna card and the foam pad.
Attach the antenna to the antenna port, ensuring correct wiring to avoid damage.
Caution: Incorrect wiring may damage the antenna cable.
Reinstall the middle frame.
Connect the wireless LAN cable 1 (white connector) to J13, the white port on the lower-right of the main board.
Connect the wireless LAN cable 2 (black connector) to J15, the black port on the lower-right of the main board.

Step 3: Reinstall the base and tear bar

After installing the module, reassemble the printer:

Reconnect all cables to the main board.
Reinstall the base and secure it with four screws.
Turn the printer over.
Reinstall the tear bar and secure it with two screws.
Close the top cover.
