Learn how to install a cutter in your WS4-TT printer with this step-by-step guide.

Step 1: Remove the base and the middle frame
Before installing the cutter, you need to dismantle certain components of the printer.
- Open the top cover.
- Press the module release latch to open the print module.
- Loosen and remove the two screws on each side of the tear bar.

- Remove the tear bar from the printer.
- Loosen and remove the two screws at the bottom of the tear bar.

- Loosen and remove the two screws on each side of the media roll holders.

- Remove the middle frame along with the top cover.
Step 2: Connect and secure the cutter
Once the necessary parts have been removed, follow these steps to install and connect the cutter:
- Thread the cutter cable through the square hole to the right of the print module.

- Plug the cutter connector into J8 on the main board. J8 is the white port located to the right of the main board.

- Loosen the screw on the bottom-left corner of the main board, connect the ground wire (fork terminal), and then tighten the screw to secure it.
- Place the cutter onto the print module.
- Reinstall the middle frame along with the top cover, ensuring the cutter cable is inside the middle frame.
- Reverse the previous steps to secure the middle frame to the printer.
- Align the three screw holes on the cutter with the screw holes on each side of the platen roller and secure the cutter with three screws.
Step 3: Test the cutter
After installing the cutter, test its functionality by following these steps:
- Press the switch lock on the media roll holders to slide them outward, then place the media roll between the holders. Ensure the print side is facing up and that the media roll is clamped tightly.
- Press the lock button on the media guides to slide them outward.
- Pull the media until it reaches the edge of the cutter plate. Place the media under the media shaft and center it between the media guides.
- Thread the media into the slot of the cutter.
- Close the print module and press down firmly on both sides until you hear a click.
- Close the top cover.
- Send a print job or press the FEED button to test if the cutter is working correctly.
