Learn how to install a cutter in your CL4NX Plus / CL6NX Plus printer with this step-by-step guide.
- Before the installation, be sure to power off the product and disconnect the power cord.
- Be careful not to touch the cutter blade.
- Phillips screwdriver (JIS #2 or equivalent)
Step 1: Open the top cover and print head
- Open the top cover (1) and the print head (2).

Step 2: Remove the front covers
- Remove two screws (3).
- Remove the front covers (4) and (5) by sliding them in the arrow direction.

Step 3: Install the relay PCB
- Install the relay PCB (6) to the product.
- Tighten two screws (7) to secure the relay PCB.

Step 4: Connect the option cable
- Connect the option cable (8) of the product to the relay PCB (6).

Step 5: Connect the cutter cable
- Connect the cutter cable (9) to the relay PCB (6).

Step 6: Attach the front cover
- Attach the front cover (5) while placing the cutter cable (9) onto the slot.

Step 7: Connect the cutter cable to the cutter unit
- Connect the cutter cable (9) to the PCB on the cutter unit (10).

Step 8: Attach the cutter unit
- Attach the cutter unit (10) to the product.
- Tighten four screws (11) to secure the cutter unit.
Step 9: Attach the front cover of the cutter
- Attach the front cover (12) of the cutter.
- Tighten two screws (3).

Checking and adjusting after the installation
Error message checking
- After you load the media and ribbon, close the print head then power on the product.

- Pull the tab to open the cutter-open lever and check that the Cutter open error message shows on the LCD.
- Close and lock the cutter-open lever.

Cut position adjustment
- In offline mode, press the right soft button (FEED). The product feeds and cuts one label.
- Check that the cut position is correct. Make sure that the cutter cuts on the label gap. If not, adjust the offset value.
